Blacklist of unruly air passengers planned   2015-03-05

CHINA Eastern Airlines has joined other national carriers in appealing to the nation’s civil aviation regulator to establish a blacklist of misbehaving passengers “as soon as possible,” a senior official with the airline said yesterday.

Those on the blacklist will not be issued flight tickets by the carriers. The list was necessary to deter those breaking the civil aviation regulation, said Ma Xulun, general manager of Shanghai-based China Eastern Airlines, also a national legislator.

Ma made the plea following a series of incidents involving airborne Chinese passengers in recent months. In one case, a passenger opened the emergency exit doors of a plane because of a flight delay, while another made hoax bomb calls which forced the aircraft to make an emergency landing.
