SHANGHAI Mayor Yang Xiong met Chris Kermode, executive chairman and president of ATP, the governing body of professional tennis tournaments. Yang welcomed Kermode’s first visit to the city after taking the position.

Kermode was in Shanghai to check the city’s preparations for Shanghai Rolex Masters, an ATP Masters 1000 tournament.

Yang said Shanghai has cooperated with ATP for more than 20 years. The annual event has made positive contribution to the development of tennis sports in Shanghai and China.
