A quake measured at 1.7 magnitude hit Baishan District in Shanghai at 5:36am today, according to the Shanghai Earthquake Administration.

The epicenter was detected at 31.4 degrees of north latitude, 121.5 degrees of east longitude, with a depth of 6 kilometers. The epicenter was 23km from People’s Square, said the administration.

So far there're no reports of casualties or property damage.
