State Grid Shanghai Company has applied a new technology to battle upcoming typhoon Lekima. The typhoon detection alarm system is connected with the data-receiving station of weather satellites and weather radar stations. With 55 sets of the system installed across the city which cover all 110 kilowatts cable lines, state grid can anticipate wind direction and scale as well as the amount of rain 72 hours ahead.
