Swissotel Grand Shanghai, a luxury hotel in Jing'an District, was issued the first rectification notice by the Shanghai Urban Management and Law Enforcement Bureau on Monday morning for violating the city’s new domestic garbage management regulations, which are effective from Monday. Garbage bins at the hotel had none of the required signs, and napkins were found in the bin for recyclable trash. In addition, the bins had no covers, also against the new regulations, officials found. The notice was issued around 9:50am.
