Authorities from Shaoxing in neighboring Zhejiang Province signed 15 projects totaling 35.18 billion yuan (US$5.2 billion) in Shanghai on Saturday as the city is stepping up cooperation with Shanghai and other cities in the Yangtze River Delta region. The 15 projects covered a variety of areas including information technology, intelligent equipment, biological medicine, new materials and education, and medical treatment. The government of Shaoxing also signed cooperation agreements with UNISOC, a top chip designer in China, over an integrated circuit (design) industry chain project, and the National Eastern Tech-Transfer Center over the establishment of the Shaoxing sub-center.
