THE introduction of digital sensors during the final part of the driving test in Shanghai is likely to lead to a much higher failure rate, a local instructor said yesterday.

From today, eight of the 16 requirements would-be drivers must meet during the road test will be measured digitally.

The rest will remain at the discretion of the examiner, the public security bureau said in a notice on its website.
