A new bullet train service from Shanghai to Chengdu will begin on July 1.

The train will leave Shanghai Hongqiao at 6:36am daily and arrive in Chengdu at 9:54pm. In the opposite direction, a train will leave Chengdu at 8am and arrive in Shanghai at 10:58pm.

The journey time will be 15 hours and 18 minutes, or more than 5 hours quicker than at present. Ticket prices have yet to be announced.
