Shanghai mayor meets British PM to discuss cooperation in trade, finance and cultural industries 2018-02-06
Shanghai Mayor Ying Yong met Theresa May, prime minister of the UK, and her delegation last Friday.
Ying welcomed his guests and said China’s President Xi Jinping has ushered in a new era for Sino-Britain relationship, and the PM’s visit to Shanghai will promote Sino-Britain relationship to a higher level.
Ying said Shanghai is working hard to build itself into an international center of economy, finance, trade, shipping, and technological innovation, and will build itself into an international metropolis by 2035. Shanghai’s strengths are reforms and opening, and the city is also promoting economic globalization and trade liberalization.
