A high speed railway connecting Shanghai and Huzhou in eastern Zhejiang Province launched construction yesterday.

It will cut the railway travel time between the two cities by about half to one hour.

The Husuhu Railway, stretching 164 kilometers, starts from Hongqiao Railway Station in Shanghai and runs through Suzhou.
