THE new Jing'an District will turn itself into a zone of museums for history and culture protection, authorities said yesterday at a cultural workshop.

The new district, combining the original Jing'an and Zhabei districts, currently has 60 museums in existence, or being constructed or being planned.

Displays include revolutionary memorials, cultural heritage, industrial artefacts, and collections in communities and schools, as well as private museums.
