SHANGHAI Mayor Yang Xiong led an official delegation to Chile this week and met Chilean President Michelle Bachelet and Santiago Metropolitan Region Governor Claudio Orrego on August 21 and 22.

Yang and Orrego also signed an agreement for friendly cooperation between Shanghai and Santiago in the next three years.

The mayor told the president that Shanghai not only has exchanges with its Chilean sister city Valparaíso but also has cooperation with Santiago. Shanghai wants to expand ties with regional governments in Chile.
