SHANGHAI Mayor Yang Xiong met a delegation from the Turkish capital of Ankara, led by his counterpart Melih Gökçek, yesterday.

Yang said the China-Turkey relationship is growing steadily as a result of frequent exchange of visits by the two countries' leaders and their cooperation in international affairs.

He said China and Turkey signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the "Belt and Road" initiative. He was impressed by Ankara's urban regeneration program and theme park construction when he visited the city last year.
