Fulin Precision Soars After Placing China’s First Large Order for Embodied Industrial Robots

Shares of Fulin Precision surged after the Chinese supplier of raw materials for power batteries ordered 100 embodied industrial robots from Chinese humanoid robotics startup AgiBot, marking the first large order for such products in the country.

Fulin Precision closed up 11.2 percent at CNY14.32 (USD1.99) in Shenzhen on Monday, after earlier gaining as much as 15.2 percent.

Fulin Precision will pay tens of millions of Chinese yuan, equal to millions of US dollars, for 100 A2-W wheeled humanoid robots developed by AgiBot for factory deployment, the Shanghai-based startup announced on Monday.

The A2-W is a flexible manufacturing robot released by AgiBot in August last year. It features 40 degrees of freedom, has anthropomorphic dexterous hands, and is equipped with a wheeled chassis.

This cooperation with AgiBot marks the arrival of industrial embodied intelligence’s large-scale commercial application, said Deng Yang, director of the engineering department at Fulin Precision.

“The A2-W can assist humans with repetitive box-moving tasks in the workshop that can easily lead to lumbar muscle strain, allowing workers to focus on more valuable operations,” Deng noted. “As robots are continuously introduced and applied, industrial embodied intelligence is poised to reshape manufacturing production and propel the industry’s intelligent transformation into a new phase.”

Last month, the first batch of four A2-W humanoid robots successfully completed a live demonstration of material handling and regular industrial operations at Fulin Precision’s electric vehicle parts plant in Mianyang.

The A2-W robots, which can identify tote boxes and perform unstacking, loading, and retrieving tasks, demonstrated a capacity of handling 1,000 tote boxes per shift.

The large-scale deployment of 100 A2-W robots will expand the robots’ operational scope from the initial two production line stations to two core workshops, AgiBot noted. With a total moving capacity of nearly 10,000 boxes per shift, they will become the core logistics force connecting the two workshops, the firm added.
