Permanent home found for history museum 2016-02-02
THE city’s most treasured historical artefacts will be moving to a new home.
The Shanghai History Museum, which currently has no permanent site, will be taking up residence at the former address of the Shanghai Art Museum on Nanjing Road W, the Shanghai Cultural Heritage Administration said yesterday.
Renovation work on the building, which originally housed a horse-racing club when it was built in 1933, will start this year, and the new site is expected to be open to the public sometime next year.
