THE Shanghai Charity Foundation raised 13.47 million yuan (US$2.17 million) in just two hours of the opening ceremony of its month-long campaign yesterday with movie star Huang Xiaoming himself donating 1 million yuan.

The foundation's "Greatest Love Under Blue Sky" campaign is a 35-day event that raises cash and other items for around 100,000 needy people including the elderly, physically challenged and low-income families. Medical treatment and education programs are also included in the program. Those keen on donating can also do so on its WeChat account "scforg."
