SEVERAL events will be held in Jing'an District to celebrate Christmas, the New Year and other "holidays," the local government said yesterday.

The highlight will be a 50-meter-diameter "Sky Ring" Ferris wheel on the roof of the Joy City shopping mall on Xizang Road N, which opens on Saturday, it said in a press release.

Other events — to be held before the Lantern Festival on February 22 — include New Year countdowns, art exhibitions, a concert and a fun run.
