ENHANCED measures will be taken to prevent overcrowding in the Bund area of the city over the Labor Day holiday, police said yesterday.

As well as more officers on the streets, the flow of pedestrians in and around the popular area will be closely controlled, they said.

On Nanjing Road E. — which runs perpendicular to the Bund — barriers will be erected to prevent heavy pedestrian flows, while police will redirect people via alternative routes if required.
