A pilot electric-car renting program in Jiading District will be expanded to the whole city this year, Shanghai Transportation Commission said.

The services of the app-based platform will be expanded from its current 54 outlets and 134 cars in Jiading District to 3,000 cars and 300 rental outlets elsewhere in the city.

The rental price is 15 yuan for 30 minutes and 180 yuan for 24 hours, which was half of what it would cost for a taxi.
