A plane carrying British diver Tom Daley from Shanghai to London was forced to make an emergency landing in Russia yesterday, the 20-year-old said as he posted pictures of the flight online.

“Just had to make an emergency landing in Irkutsk, Russia on the way back from Shanghai,” Daley said in a post on photo-sharing website Instagram.

He posted an image of the Virgin Atlantic Airbus A340-600 dumping fuel before landing.
