中国第一站!上海浦东机场以2500万人次的跨境客流量领跑中国   2026-09-06

Shanghai Pudong International Airport has become the first airport in China to handle over 25 million inbound and outbound passenger trips this year.

This achievement came six days earlier than in the previous year, reinforcing Pudong's position as the nation's busiest aviation port.

The surge is largely driven by a 21% year-on-year increase in inbound foreign travelers, totaling 4 million.

South Korean travelers top the list, followed by visitors from Russia, the United States, Thailand, and Malaysia.

Notably, over 60% of these foreign entries benefited from China's visa-free and transit policies, including 24-hour and 240-hour visa-free transit.

Shanghai Airport border authority uses AI to forecast passenger flow, adjust staffing, and optimize e-pass and manual clearance, enabling eligible travelers to pass in seconds.

To support this growth, Pudong's international route network has expanded to 53 countries and 302 destinations.

New routes this year include Shanghai-Dublin, which debuted with nearly full occupancy.

The airport also facilitated over 2.8 million transit passengers with 24-hour direct transit without border inspection procedures.

On the outbound side, more than 7.5 million Chinese mainland residents have departed through Pudong, averaging over 30,000 per day.

Besides traditional short-haul destinations in Asia, long-haul routes to Northern Europe, Africa, and Australia are gaining popularity.
