浦东庆祝动漫、漫画和游戏节 2025-07-14
Pudong is turning up the heat with its first Guzi Carnival, a district-wide celebration of ACG (animation, comics, and games) culture.
"Guzi," a playful twist on "goods," is a youth slang for beloved character merchandise. But the carnival offers more than collectibles.
The main event will run from August 1 to 10 at the L+ Mall, where themed shops, anime markets, and cosplay zones will blur the lines between virtual and physical space. The timing coincides with ChinaJoy, Asia's largest digital entertainment expo, taking place from August 1 to 4.
Across the district, 16 themed events will animate Pudong's major commercial centers.
At Super Brand Mall, the Sony Columbia Pictures Exhibition is on view through March 2026, while the Shanghai Idol Festival, running from July 18 to 20, will bring together more than 100 idol groups performing across four stages.
Century Link Mall is hosting Pop Mart's "Take it Slow" exhibition featuring the Zsiga IP, and Taikoo Li Qiantan, in collaboration with Disney China, is presenting a summer park with photo installations, pop-up carts, and outdoor movie screenings through August 31.
The festivities will continue into the Fall with the IP Lifestyle Festival in September and October.
Its highlight - the IP Carnival at Century Park from October 15 to 18 - will feature 15 global franchises, including Pokémon, Doraemon, and the Minions, along with 25 themed food vendors, curated merchandise booths, and a three-hour concert featuring re-imagined classic theme songs.
