Metro Line 16 has been forced to restrict commuters on some stations on the line and add extra trains on its section as it struggles to control the crowd during office hours.

Line 16 extended its route from Luoshan Road Station to Longyang Road Station at the end of last year. Trains for Longyang Road Station, the interchange station for Line 2 and 7, have been fully packed during morning office hours, made even more difficult by the three-carriage trains.

The Metro operator has been forced to restrict commuters’ movements by shutting down some turnstiles and restricting access to the stations.
