The National Robot Testing and Evaluation Center has moved its headquarters to Putuo.

As a third-party testing and certification agency, the center also specializes in robot standardization and technical services to help spur the development of the nation’s robotics industry. The center provides a platform for robotic companies to facilitate designing and R&D processes. It will further benefit the national equipment manufacturing industry and assist its transformation from “Made in China” to “Created in China.”

Robots are expected to be the foundation of smart manufacturing, which indicates the direction of the manufacturing industry.

As the center will be in Shanghai, it will be able to effectively integrate and make full use of the city’s privileges and strengths in industry, technology and talents, officials said.

According to the plan, the center will set up three sub-centers in Guangzhou, Chongqing and Shenyang cities.
