上海浦东国际航运周开幕,聚焦数字化、智能化、绿色转型 2026-10-21

The 2026 Shanghai Pudong International Shipping Week has officially kicked off, focusing on the shipping industry's digital and intelligent transformation, green and low-carbon transition, and outbound supply chains.
Launched in 2023 and co-organized by the People’s Government of Pudong New Area and the Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission, the Pudong Shipping Week was upgraded to the Shanghai Pudong International Shipping Week this year, running from on October 20 to Oct. 24.
The Shanghai Pudong International Shipping Week will run alongside the North Bund International Shipping Forum for the first time, providing a platform for domestic and international guests to exchange ideas and showcase China’s shipping achievements to the world.
The opening ceremony attracted more than 400 guests. Among them were 110 foreign attendees from 19 countries and regions, including representatives from international shipping organizations, such as the Baltic and International Maritime Council, the International Association of Classification Societies, and Maritime London, as well as corporate senior executives.
In his keynote speech, Li Wei, vice president of China COSCO Shipping, focused on how artificial intelligence can empower modern shipping services. He introduced the applications of large language models, AI agents, and other technologies across the entire shipping chain and their role in improving shipping efficiency, navigation safety, and industrial resilience.
David Loosley, secretary-general and chief executive officer of the BIMCO, focused on the challenges facing the global shipping industry and explored ways for it to respond through collaboration.
The Shanghai Pudong International Shipping Week will promote cooperation in industry exchanges and standard-setting through the participation of Chinese and international shipping organizations, companies, and research institutions, Tan Peng, member of the Party Leadership Group of Pudong New Area, said at the opening ceremony.
Against the backdrop of the shipping industry’s ongoing digital, intelligent, and green transformation, Shanghai is also strengthening its development into an international shipping center.
The 15th Five-Year Plan for Water Transport Development issued by the Ministry of Transport proposes enhancing the service capacity of shipping hubs, especially the Shanghai International Shipping Center, advancing the digital and intelligent upgrade of automated terminals, promoting large-scale AI application, and expanding the use of new energy and clean energy ships while improving the green and low-carbon standard system for water transport.
